Vedic Maths

Vedic Maths is an ancient method of Indian Maths. This is based on the Vedas the divine scripts of India. This was discovered by Sri Bharati Krishna Tirthaji between 1910 and 1920 AD. According to this scholar, all mathematics is based upon the 16 sutras. You need more practice to appreciate the beauty and simplicity of this Vedic Maths. Those sutras are in Sanskrit. Here we have given the English translation of that Sanskrit version.

The 16 sutras are ....


  1. Vertically and cross-wise


  2. Differential calculus


  3. By sddition and by cubtraction


  4. The product of the sums


  5. The remainders by the last digit


  6. If the samukkaya is the same, it is zero


  7. By one more than the one before


  8. The ultimate and twice the penultimate


  9. All the multipliers


  10. All from 9 and the last from 10


  11. Specific and general


  12. By the completion or non-completion


  13. Transpose and apply


  14. By one less than the one before


  15. If one is in ratio the other is zero


  16. By the deficiency
